Art Works > Exploring Drawing Techniques and Drawing Materials: From the Ice Age to the present.

Picasso's Blue Period roughly started after the death of his friend Casagemas in 1901, this deeply affected Picasso. This personal loss of his close friend, heralded the beginnings of the Blue Period. The Blue period was not popular with his dealers at that time as his work dealt with people living on the edge of society with poverty and degradation. This interpretation of mine of The Blind Guitarist, was from an earlier body of work of mine. I think it is a fare representation of that period. The drawing is based on a painting which I have passed through the medium of drawing and watercolour with black encompassing the figure to set the mood.
