Dora Maar was Picasso's 4th partner. An intellectual artist and a photographer of the surrealist movement. Dora photographed the different stages of Guernica being painted, leavening us an invaluable record of Picasso's thought process. At the onset of WW11 Picasso & Dora moved to French seaside town of Royan. So the drawing I have made is partly surrealist in honour of Dora's connection to the movement. Dora is holding a drawing of a bull/minotaur with which Picasso self identified. The use of the blue pencil to give the mood of the beginning of those sombre times.
