Art Works > Exploring Drawing Techniques and Drawing Materials: From the Ice Age to the present.

In this image after Rembrandt I have used Blue ink, Blue Wash (watered ink) & a Quill Pen. I have found as I got used to use of the traditional Quill Pen its ability to make sweeping curves with the Quill. Through trial & error you get used to loading the pen with the right amount of ink. The Black & earth coloured inks tend to be lightfast, but the blue ink I have used I checked the lightfast rating on the bottle first and it was ok. With some coloured inks I recommend checking the lightfast rating first, as some of the coloured can fade quicker with time. I tried to catch in this image a stoical character who has survived life knocks.
