Art Works > Exploring Drawing Techniques and Drawing Materials: From the Ice Age to the present.

One of my favourite paintings by Picasso is Man with an Ice Cream. I have read that Picasso was influenced by Leonardo da Vinci's distorted drawings that Leonardo made for the Court in Milan. Picasso made use of many periods in Art History in his work, cleverly covering his tracks. In this work I have used a horizontal format, I think changing from vertical to horizontal and changing size of paper can inspire a fresh approach to the image. In this case I have added an energy saving bulb and the fuel shortages last winter bring it into our own times with a bit of humour.
