Picasso was a native of Spain and the Mediterranean Sea, though he worked in Paris he would head for the coastal ports of Southern France in the summer to renew his spirit. Picasso is again role playing in this image as almost Odysseus returning from his epic voyage. In this image Marie-Therese Walter his partner holds their child Maya. The original work of Picasso was in pen, ink and wash. I have used sanguine colour pencil, changing mediums and reversing images makes you re-think the source material.
