Art Works > Exploring Drawing Techniques and Drawing Materials: From the Ice Age to the present.

Jeanne's holding a daisy outside the La Rotonde with typical Modigliani elongation of face and neck. I have tried to catch the cascading effect of her long hair (she had beautiful long hair). I recently came across a book on symbols used in the history of art works. I decided to have Jeanne holiday a flower a common one in our gardens, that looks lovely but has a short life span, a symbol for her short life. Jeanne was only 22 years old when she died in tragic circumstances. Who knows what she would have achieved if she had lived longer. Jeanne was a young student and was starting to show real artistic ability at that time. Modigliani and Jeanne are buried together in Pere Lachaise Cemetery Paris.
