Exploring Drawing Techniques and Drawing Materials: From the Ice Age to the present.
The image of the Minotaur has been from the time of the ancient Greeks Myths has fascinated many Visual Artists down the centuries. Part man, part Bull, it has inspired Artists through it possibilities for invention and manipulation of form and role playing. Picasso used the Minotaur as almost a stand-in for his many moods. In this work through texture, ink wash & smudging I have wanted to depict the brutality & vulnerability of the Minotaur, Venus counters his forward move with the emblem of the Dove. The composition is Frieze like.
