Art Works > Global Warming Series. Gerry Gleason. 2021-22. Supported by The Arts Council of N. Ireland (Creative Individuals Recovery Programme Grant).

As humankind moved through the industrial revolution to the present day the great forests of this planet are being destroyed at an alarming rate. In the past the indigenous people of the rainforests knew how much they could cut or burn clearings to plant crops allowing new growth to occur and the forest health was sustained. This drawing envisages the man becoming the machine from the simple tools used by the indigenous population to the chain saw and giant earth moving vehicles.
