This image was a response to the loss of life to the virus in Spain and Ireland (North & South). I would also like it to stand for the loss life of everywhere to Covid-19. Picasso's work from 1930's to 1945 has been a touchstone for much of this series of mine. The period 1940-45 when he witnessed worldwide disastrous events and was under strict confinement. Like Picasso did with Manet, Delacroix and Velazquez I have made free interpretations of his work of that period in many cases far removed from the orginal source. But felt he was at my shoulder throughout.
