This painting, in the style of Neo Primitivism, of a Helicopter and pilot hovering in the night sky has for me an iconic feeling. The Helicopter was an ever-present image in the skies above N. Ireland both day and night during the troubles. Some-times it would cast this strange cone of light in the night sky down onto riots or suspected car bombs and other suspect activities. I imagined the crew never putting their feet on the ground, remote from daily urban life and returning to some remote base, its lights twinkling amongst the stars the shape below him of a toy crocodile scurrying unseen below going about its activities,
for me an iconic feeling.
