Over the years I have admired the works of the German painter Max Beckmann, particularity his great triptychs,drawing on Greek myths and fusing them to his own time. I have also admired his dry point etchings and b&w drawings, with at times their starkness. He lived through a very difficult period of history, but kept his moral compass. I think the image is self explanatory.
