Art Works > Exploring Drawing Techniques and Drawing Materials: From the Ice Age to the present.

Leonardo's use of Sanguine coloured Chalk gives his drawings in this medium a warm, very subtle feeling when seen in certain light. I feel it is like looking through a soft focus lens. His ability to do this makes them other worldly and a great achievement with such simple materials. I have taken this drawing of his and reversed it, as I am righthanded and he was lefthanded, making it a more natural movement of the hand for me. I liked this image of his, as it seems more secular and reaches to out own modernity. I have tried through this modest interpretation of mine, to catch something of his beautiful original drawing.
