Whilst making this series of works I watched a TV documentary on the effects of Global warming in certain areas of Africa. One section dealt with a well digger who went round villages digging wells for the local village community. He said that he was having to digging the wells deeper and deeper to reach water. At times the temperatures at the bottom of the were well over 40 degrees + Centigrade. Temperatures in parts of Africa are at times 50 degrees centigrade and will rise. (image after Rembrandt).
