Art Works > Exploring Drawing Techniques and Drawing Materials: From the Ice Age to the present.

The LHS Image is based on a van Gogh painting now sadly lost of him on The Road to Tarascon. I have reversed the idea and he is returning on The Road From Tarascon after a days painting. Francis Bacon was greatly taken by a reproduction of the original work and made many variations on that theme. He was also inspired by the Film Lust for Life, which he had just seen before commencing the cycle of work. The RHS Image which van Gogh copied after Millet a French Artist, Millet made many scenes of French Rural life. Vincent created many paintings on the theme of The Sower, working under varying conditions and different seasons of the year. He felt it represented the great struggle of survival and rebirth.
