Art Works > Exploring Drawing Techniques and Drawing Materials: From the Ice Age to the present.

Dora Maar was an important witness to the making of Picasso's Masterpiece Guernica. Each day when changes were made to great canvas she recorded them with her camera, leaving us an invaluable record of process of creativity. Dora became the Model for the Great Weeping Heads of Women that followed that period, for me his most powerful portraits of that period. I have used some gouache mixed with ink and also caused ink splatters, flicking the ink unto the image. I found looking at the working drawings for Guernica a great insight in how the great composition came together. These images came before this project, but I thought they would be of interest to share.
